The island offers a great selection of bars cafes and farm shops, the island has a total surface of 13 miles, so it is relatively easy to access the local area, if you want to head to the mainland like Colchester, Clacton or Chelmsford it is also easy as you can either take the car across the causeway or take the foot ferry to catch public transport to your chosen destination.
From the M1 take the A14 towards Colchester then follow the A12 Mersea Island is only around a 45 mins drive from the A12
